First time customers get an automatic 10% off, and there's a separate free shipping code if delivery costs are your main concern.
On a small order under $50, first time only. New customers get 10% off applied to your first order at no extra step, so take that automatic discount. If you are returning to Martie, the 10% off code above will save you the same amount.
On orders of any size, hunting for specific items. Check whether the product you want is in the sale section. On a $100 order where you find an item marked down 50%, that discount applies to that item alone, saving you more than the 10% code would on your whole basket. The 10% off code applies to everything you buy, so compare: the code saves $10 on a $100 order, while a 50% markdown on a $40 item saves $20. If your basket contains multiple sale items, the savings add up quickly. The up to 70% off sale section works the same way, applying only to products marked down there, so again check your actual items before choosing.
Choosing between the offers on a full price basket. If all your items are full price and none are in a sale section, use the 10% off code. It applies to your entire order and cannot be combined with other promotional codes, so it is your only discount option. The free shipping code is useful only if shipping costs more than 10% of your order total, which is unlikely on most food and drink purchases.
On orders where you need to factor in delivery. The free shipping code removes your shipping charge but adds no discount to the products themselves. The 10% off code discounts what you buy but you pay for shipping. Work out which saves more: on a $100 order with $10 shipping, the 10% code saves $10 on your food and drink, leaving you to pay the shipping, while the free shipping code takes $10 off your total bill but leaves the product price unchanged. In this case they save the same amount. If your order is smaller or shipping is cheaper, the 10% off code likely saves more. If you have a sale item, the math may shift again, so compare your specific basket.
Compare the offers that apply to what you are actually buying. If you are working with full price products, the 10% off code saves the most. If you have found items in the sale section, work out what the sale discount alone would save you and whether it beats the 10% off code applied to your whole order. Use whichever option leaves you with the lower total at checkout.
