The tea blends they use are quite essential. That's why all of New English Teas's teas are meticulously handpicked and expertly blended before making their way into New English Teas's collections of delightfully distinctive tea tins and tea caddies. Here's a little peek at what's inside:
Tea Bags for English Breakfast:
The black CTC PD (pekoe dust) tea used in English breakfast tea is cultivated at altitudes of over 4000 feet in the Western hills of Sri Lanka. This mix is typically regarded as full-bodied, flavorful, and aromatic, with a powerful cup that pairs well with milk and sugar. The colour of the cup is brilliant and crimson. There is about 2.5 per cent caffeine present.
Afternoon Tea Bags in English:
This is a black CTC PD tea grown at an elevation of over 4000 feet in the Western hills of Sri Lanka. This blend has a robust body, a rich flavour, and a pleasant aroma, but it is not as strong as the English breakfast cup. The colour of the cup is more vibrant. There is around 2.5 per cent caffeine present.
Loose Leaf English Breakfast Tea:
This tea is a well-made CTC BP 1 granule style with bold round particles of a greater size. Tea is produced at a high height of 4000 feet in Sri Lanka's western hills. This mix produces a cup of tea that is rich, full-bodied, brighter and has a stronger aroma. The colour of the cup is brilliant red. There is a caffeine level of 2.5 per cent.
Loose Leaf English Afternoon Tea:
This tea is also CTC BP 1, a well-made granule style with bold round particles in a bigger size. Tea is produced at a high height of 4000 feet in Sri Lanka's western hills. This blend, like the English breakfast BP1, produces a rich, full-bodied, brighter teacup with a greater scent while having a lower cup strength. The colour of the cup is brilliant and crimson. There is a caffeine level of 2.5 per cent.
Loose Leaf Earl Grey Tea
Flowery broken orange pekoe tea with a slightly wiry, broken leaf that is less twisted. Tea is produced in the Western hills at elevations ranging from 2000 to 4000 feet. Tea has a mellow flavour and a rich aromatic smell when steeped rapidly. After incorporating natural bergamot flavour into the blend, the tea takes on a sweet flowery sour bergamot flavour with a light red cup colour. There is a caffeine level of 2.5 per cent.
Tea Bags Earl Grey
This is BOPF tea from the Dimbula district of Sri Lanka, which is grown at elevations of 4000 to 5000 feet. In the cup, the tea has a lovely golden orange tint and is wonderfully mellow. However, if you add natural bergamot flavour, you'll get a sweet flowery sour taste of bergamot flavour, as well as the Dimbula scent and brighter cup colour. There is a caffeine level of 2.5 per cent.
