Rail Discoveries accepts all major Credit/Debit Card.
Each tour has a set number of departures with limited group size. Many tours fill quickly so it is always advisable to book early to get your preferred choice of dates. Rail Discoveries do not offer late booking discounts so there is no benefit in delaying booking your holiday. A deposit is needed to fully reserve any of their holidays.
Once you have booked and paid them the appropriate deposit for your holiday, they guarantee that you will not be surcharged. This means that even if a cost increase is imposed upon them by a supplier - for example, due to an increase in fuel costs - and they need to increase the holiday price for all new bookings, they guarantee that a price rise will not affect you if you have already booked your holiday. It really does pay to book early.
Once you have made your booking and a deposit has been paid, they will forward a Confirmation of Booking to you. Your confirmation will show a breakdown of the accommodation and services booked on the holiday, the remaining balance and the date when it has to be paid.
The maximum number varies from tour to tour, but it is usually between 35 to 45 people, except for their Short Breaks where they have around 25 people. The majority of their tours travel with a full complement and it is very rare that they have to cancel due to lack of numbers. However, on occasions, it is necessary for them to cancel tours due to low numbers. As a general rule, the minimum number of passengers required to operate a tour is 15 and they will always contact their customers in good time should it be necessary to cancel or make an amendment to the scheduled programme.

These are larger absolute savings than the sitewide $200 deal when the trip is a qualifying European itinerary.
Selected 2027 vacations where the $200 off deal is shown as applicable: If your booking is explicitly one of the selected 2027 vacations, take the $200 off offer. For a $2,000 vacation that is eligible, the saving is $200 and the final price is $1,800. That $200 saving is fixed and will be the best choice for those specific 2027 departures that the offer covers, especially if the £400 offer does not list that departure as eligible.
Colorado Rail Experience: The 11% off is the offer to use for the Colorado Rail Experience. For example, on a $3,000 Colorado booking, 11% off is $330, leaving $2,670. That will beat a $200 saving on the same-priced itinerary, so prefer the 11% deal for Colorado bookings.
