Here are some great tips & tricks for extra savings at TruConnect:
Make sure your device is turned off. Note: If your phone is on while you insert the SIM card, you may need to restart your phone.
Open your TruConnect SIM Kit and remove the SIM tool and the SIM card. Locate your phone’s SIM card tray.
Heads up! Your SIM card tray will be a small slot with a hole, usually on the sides of your phone.
Can’t find it? For Cloud Mobile and other device types, you’ll need to remove the back of your phone cover. See your device’s user manual for more details.
Push the SIM tool into the hole until the SIM card tray opens.
Find the right size SIM card for your phone’s SIM card tray. Start by punching out the biggest size and work your way down until you find the size that fits your phone.
Once you have the right size SIM card, place it into your phone’s SIM card tray.
Already have a SIM card in your phone? Replace your phone’s old SIM card with your new TruConnect SIM card.
Once your TruConnect SIM card is in the tray, close your SIM card tray.
Go ahead and turn your phone on. Give your phone a second to update your carrier. You’ll see it in the status bar.
Call their Customer Care team at (800) 430-0443. Their team is available Monday-Saturday 5:00 AM to 9:00 PM PDT to activate your new SIM Card.
Heads up! When Customer Care activates your SIM Card, your call will be automatically disconnected.
You’re set! Enjoy your TruConnect service.
Once you’ve received your TruConnect device or SIM card, it’s easy to register your account.
Activate your TruConnect SIM. Need help activating? Visit http://support.truconnect.com/s/article/Activate-SIM for our tips and tricks on activation.
Log into your MyTruConnect account. Visit their website and click on “First Time Here?” and enter your TruConnect number.
Register your TruConnect account. Once you read through their Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy, tick the box, then click “Sign Up”.
Heads up! Don’t exit out of this page after signing up - you will continue on this page to finish the sign up process.
Enter your unique TruConnect Code. Check your texts! A sign up code will be texted to your TruConnect number, from them. Enter that code when prompted on the sign up screen on www.my.truconnect.com.
Choose a password. Make sure your password has at least one capital letter, at least one number, and at least one special character (e.g. $, &). Sign in! Once your code is in and your password is set, your account will officially be registered with TruConnect.
Once you’ve submitted your TruConnect application, it may take 3-5 business days before they have the next steps for you. Once your application has been approved, they’ll ship your device or SIM card, and you’ll receive it within 7-10 business days.
Sometimes, the internet service itself goes down, or there’s an upgrade happening to the network. In both these cases, your internet will come back after the outage or upgrade is finished.
Start with some basics: Take your SIM card out and gently wipe it down with a dry, soft cloth. Then put it back in and restart your phone.
Make sure that your phone isn’t in airplane mode and that mobile data is also turned on.
Try manually choosing TruConnect as your carrier and restarting your phone.
For iPhone:
Go to the settings app
Open Mobile Data
Choose Mobile Network
Toggle the Automatic option to “off.”
Choose TruConnect from the carriers list
For Android:
Navigate to settings
Choose network and internet
Select internet, and then settings
Find the “automatically select network option” and turn it off
From the list, choose TruConnect
Try changing your phone’s APN settings for TruConnect. If the latest settings haven’t been given to your phone automatically, this could impact your internet. It’s very easy to enter these settings manually.
For iPhone:
Open Settings
Choose Mobile Data, and then Mobile Data Options
Select Mobile Data Network
Choose each item and enter the correct TruConnect details
For Android
Go to Settings
Open Mobile networks
Choose Access Point Names
Select New APN
Put in the correct information
You can transfer your current number over to TruConnect. Follow these easy steps and they’ll get you connected in a snap.
Pro Tip: Make sure you don’t cancel your service with your old provider until you activate with TruConnect to keep your number active.
Sign up for TruConnect. If you’re not already signed up with us for Lifeline and/or the ACP benefit, visit their website to get started. Once you’re approved, we can start the number transfer process.
Gather important information. Have all your key information from your previous carrier handy: Account #, Account PIN/Password, and Billing Zip Code.
Login into MyTruConnect app. Go to the menu > Transfer Your Number > Follow the prompts on the screen. You’ll be asked to enter: Your current phone number

Current Carrier Account Number
Number Transfer PIN
Once you finish entering this info, tap the “Check” to verify if your number is eligible to transfer.
Confirm Transfer. Once they get the “green light” that your number is eligible to transfer, tap “transfer” to submit your request.
Sit tight. Your number transfer is pending. Their team will work on transferring your number over to TruConnect. This process usually takes 24-48 hours, but you can always track the status in the MyTruConnect app. Once they've got your number, they’ll set you up with a new SIM card linked to your current number that will be shipped your way. Your new SIM card will be delivered in 7-10 business days!
Insert your new SIM card. Turn off your phone and remove your old SIM card. Find the right size SIM for your phone tray to punch out. Insert your new SIM then close. Turn on your phone and you’re good to go.
Success, Your number is now transferred, and you can start enjoying your TruConnect service.
