Wham-O has a 5% off code as its headline offer, available for any purchase. The page also features two competing sale discounts on selected products, each giving a bigger saving on certain items. The right choice depends on what you are buying and how much you spend.
Using the featured 5% off code. The featured code takes 5% off your entire purchase at Wham-O, and it works on everything. On a $60 order, for example, you save $3 to pay $57. On a $100 order you save $5 to pay $95. Since the code cannot be combined with any other offer, use it when you are buying items that are not on sale.
Comparing the code to the sale discounts. Wham-O is running two separate sales on selected products only. The larger sale takes up to 33% off certain toys and kids' products while stock lasts. The smaller sale takes up to 20% off other selected products, also while stock lasts. The "up to" means not everything qualifies; the discount varies by item. If an item you want is marked down at 33%, you will save far more with the sale than with the 5% code. On a $100 item on sale at 33% off, for example, you would pay $67 and save $33, compared to $95 and a $5 saving with the code. The 20% sale works the same way: a $100 item becomes $80 and saves $20, which is still much better than 5% off. The code takes 5% off the sale price only if the item is not currently discounted.
Choosing between offers for your basket. Look at what you are buying. If the items are on sale at either of the two discounts offered, use the sale discount instead of the code; it will save you more. If nothing you want is on sale, or the sale discount is only 20% and you want the certainty of a fixed reduction, the 5% code applies to your whole order. Work out what you pay with each option and pick the one that gives the lower total. The code cannot be combined with the sales, so you must choose one or the other.
