While their goal is to facilitate affordable shipping services, they do charge a modest booking fee. 100% of the shipment quote/bid price goes to the driver, so the booking fee is their compensation for making the connection. It is used to fund further development of the CitizenShipper platform and the continued services and safeguards provided by their support staff.

Sometimes plans just change - you might need to cancel a shipment after booking a driver. They understand and sympathize. That's why there's no fee owed to the driver if the shipment is canceled at least 72 hours before the agreed pickup time. There is also no fee due to the driver if the shipment is canceled due to the driver's inability to complete the shipment as agreed.

• You book a driver and pay the fee, but they fail to show up.
