Laurastar products have been designed to work with tap water. Please note that no additives should be added at any time such as perfumed water, water containing chemical products, or water collected in the dryer as these may damage your Laurastar products.
If your tap water is very hard or contains many minerals, they recommend using regular spring water.
Distilled water is not recommended because it is too pure and does not contain any minerals and thus has no conductivity. The absence of conductibility will prevent the probe inside the boiler from detecting the water level. It is thus advised to use tap water only.
With tap water, it is recommended to use the Laurastar granules or anti-scale cartridges, which prevent limescale, and filter salts, and are anti-corrosive. The granules and anti-scale cartridges help prolong the life span of your Laurastar.
Please note that if you are equipped with a water softener at home, your Laurastar products will also benefit from the granules and anti-scale cartridges.
