The first Music & Arts was run by creator Benjamin O'Brien and was housed in a modest home in Bethesda, Maryland. In 1952, when Music & Arts first opened its doors, it provided printed music, music instruction, dance instruction, and art supplies. Through organic expansion, a string of acquisitions, and mergers with other music retailers, Music & Arts has grown across the country. In order to become the leading reseller of band and orchestra instruments in the US, Music & Arts and American Music merged in 2005.
With top brands like Rico and Vandoren, they provide band instruments and accessories that have been authorized by educators, including clarinets, saxophones, and the largest collection of reeds available. Along with the cheapest pricing on band method books, they also have a huge selection of violins, electric and acoustic guitars, mouthpieces, accessories, and every songbook and method book you could possibly need.
