The extra 40% off clearance is the page’s featured coupon code, and it beats the smaller sitewide codes when it applies to the items in your cart.
Small purchase of full price items (under $100) If the items are not on clearance, use the 30% off your order code shown on the page for the biggest saving unless the item is excluded by the code’s terms. For example, on a $100 order, the 30% off code takes 30% off (percent 30%), leaving $70, so you save $30. The 15% sitewide code is weaker here: a $100 order with 15% off leaves $85, saving $15.
Buying clearance items Start with the extra 40% off clearance code at the top of the page because it specifically applies to selected clearance products. Clearance items may already be reduced in price; if a clearance item is already 66% off, the clearance price shown is the first discount and the extra 40% off code applies to that price when it is eligible. For example, on an item with an original price of $100 that is already 66% off (percent 66%) the sale price is $34, then the extra 40% off code takes 40% off that sale price (percent 40%), leaving $20.40, so you save $79.60 in total.
Buying retiring favorites or spring sale items If the product is part of a sale that shows a marked price (for example up to 60% or up to 50% off), compare the sale price with using a code. The extra 40% clearance code only applies to clearance products, while the 30% or 25% order codes apply to selected products or the whole order depending on the code. If the sale price is already lower than what any code would produce, use the sale price as shown; if the sale item is also listed as clearance and eligible, the extra 40% clearance code usually gives the larger saving.
Buying pens where a buy one get one free deal applies For two matching pens in the selected styles, the buy one get one free deal is effectively 50% off those two items. For example, two pens at $50 each cost $100 originally, with BOGO you pay $50, saving $50. If those same pens are on clearance and eligible for the extra 40% clearance code, check which price shown at checkout is lower and take that option.
