Softwear began with the yarn, the most fundamental component of their fabric. Lenzing TENCELTM Modal is created using a method known as "biorefinery" and beechwood tree pulp. Beechwood used by Lenzing comes from plantations and forests that are sustainably managed. At the end of their lifespan, the fibres are compostable and biodegradable, closing the material cycle and fostering natural circularity.
Reactive dyes are used in Softwear products, where they bind to the molecules of the fabric to form a permanent part of the garment. That implies neither the colour nor the need for repeated washings to remove unfixed dye is present.
